A Persian Fusion Wedding at The Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C.

Maryam and Reed's wedding at the Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C. was a celebration of family, heritage, and the connections that shape our lives.

Blending Persian traditions with timeless black-tie elegance, their wedding felt both deeply meaningful and unmistakably personal. From the beautifully curated Sofreh Aghd honoring Maryam's heritage to the thoughtful details woven throughout the day, every element reflected the couple's story.

Set within one of Washington's most iconic luxury wedding venues, the celebration brought together family and friends from near and far. While the grand architecture and elegant design provided a stunning backdrop, the moments that stood out most were the ones rooted in emotion—a glance across the room, an embrace between loved ones, and the joy of generations gathering together.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the day was a tribute to Maryam's late father, thoughtfully incorporated into the Sofreh Aghd. His presence served as a reminder that weddings are often about more than two people beginning a new chapter. They are also about honoring the people and stories that helped shape the journey.

As the day unfolded, Persian tradition and modern celebration blended seamlessly. The ceremony honored family heritage with beauty and reverence, while the reception reflected the energy, excitement, and love shared by everyone in attendance.

One of the things I love most about photographing weddings is witnessing the many ways couples choose to celebrate who they are. Whether through cultural traditions, family customs, faith, or entirely new traditions of their own, the most memorable weddings are the ones that feel authentic to the people at the center of them.

Years from now, the details will still be beautiful. But what matters most are the memories they hold—the people, the traditions, and the moments that become part of a family's history.
