Documenting, creating, and CURATING THE GREATEST LOVE STORIES OF ALL TIME
about
I'm a wedding photographer based in Washington, D.C., creating refined, joyful imagery for couples who value beauty, connection, and the people they love most.
I've always been drawn to the intersection of artistry and humanity—to the way thoughtful design can shape an experience, and the way a single photograph can bring you back to how a moment felt.
My work blends editorial artistry with genuine emotion, capturing celebrations that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.
Couples often describe me as calm, grounded, and deeply attentive. On wedding days, I bring a steady presence, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine love for people. I believe the best photographs happen when people feel comfortable enough to be fully themselves.

The Experience
Wedding days move quickly. Months—or sometimes years—of planning unfold in a matter of hours. Before most couples realize it, they're standing in the middle of a packed dance floor wondering where the day went. One of the things I hear most often after a wedding is: "It all went by so fast." My goal is to help ensure that when you look back, you remember not only how beautiful it was, but how it felt to be there.
I work closely with planners and creative teams to make photography feel seamless within the larger celebration. While planners guide the flow of the day, my attention is focused on the people inside it—the relationships, interactions, and moments that often become the most meaningful memories. My approach blends gentle direction with unobtrusive documentation. I know when to step in, when to step back, and when a moment is better left uninterrupted. After all, the best photographs rarely come from perfection. They come from trust. When people feel comfortable enough to laugh, cry, dance, hug, and simply be themselves, the photographs naturally become more honest, more emotional, and more enduring.
I work best with couples who value trust, collaboration, and thoughtful preparation as much as artistry. Together, we create an experience that feels calm, supportive, and fully aligned from beginning to end.
A Point of View
Weddings are more than events. They are the gathering of families, the continuation of traditions, and the beginning of a new chapter shared with the people you love most.
The emotional weight of these moments is never lost on me. Being entrusted with documenting them is a responsibility I hold with deep gratitude. Creating photographs that become part of a family's history—images that are revisited, shared, and cherished for generations—is both my purpose and my privilege.
Because while flowers fade and timelines end, the relationships at the center of a wedding continue long after the day itself is over. Those are the stories I care most about preserving.
Background & Perspective
With a bachelor's degree in Photography and more than a decade of experience documenting thoughtfully designed weddings, I bring both technical mastery and emotional awareness to every celebration I photograph.
My work has been published nationally and internationally, and I am honored to be recognized among the top wedding photographers in Washington, D.C. Today, I photograph weddings throughout the DMV, Mid-Atlantic, New England, and destinations beyond—including Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Annapolis, St. Michaels, Philadelphia, Newport, Providence, Boston, and New York City.
While my artistic influences draw from fine art, fashion, cinema, architecture, and travel, the people in front of my camera have always been my greatest inspiration. I am endlessly fascinated by the ways people love one another—the traditions they carry forward, the relationships that shape them, and the moments of connection that often unfold quietly between the grand events of the day. A wedding may be filled with beautiful details, but what stays with me are the people: the tearful embraces, the laughter that echoes across a reception floor, the look exchanged between two people who know they have found home in one another.
Those moments are fleeting. They cannot be recreated, repeated, or staged. That responsibility—to preserve them with honesty, care, and intention—is what continues to draw me to this work year after year.

''Anna is a fantastic photographer with a kind-hearted spirit. When we partner with her and collaborate as a photo/video team, we always know that our couple is going to have an amazing experience on the day and walk away with timeless and elegant photos.
We couldn't recommend her enough!""
“Anna creates beautiful, meaningful images. But more importantly, she makes the wedding day itself feel safe, steady, and fully lived. I felt like I could breathe easier when she was around.”

Beyond the Wedding Day
Outside of weddings, you'll usually find me near the water. Raised in Annapolis, I've always been drawn to places that invite people to slow down and be present. Time along the waterfront, discovering a new city, listening to great music, getting lost in a museum, or sharing a long conversation with someone I care about all tend to have the same effect—they remind me to pay attention.
That instinct to notice is at the heart of how I photograph. I pay attention to the things that often go unseen: the shift in someone's expression, the quiet exchange between family members, the energy in a room before a ceremony begins, the way light transforms a space. Those moments may seem small but they often become the photographs people treasure most. My greatest inspiration will always be people and the stories they carry.
The Team
Weddings are most definitely a team effort. Team ASP is made up of talented, compassionate photographers who share my commitment to excellence, care, and professionalism. Every team member is personally selected to ensure that both the experience and imagery reflect the same level of artistry, discretion, and intentionality my clients expect from the studio. Their presence allows every wedding to be documented with consistency, respect, and thoughtful attention to the day as it naturally unfolds.
I approach every wedding with the same intention:
to create photographs that feel as good as they look—and to document the people, moments, and connections that matter most.
When you invite someone into the most meaningful moments of your life, trust matters just as much as talent. That's why my approach begins with listening—to your story, your values, your culture, and the people who matter most to you.
Because while every wedding is different, the things that matter most are often the same: love, connection, family, friendship, and the people gathered to celebrate alongside you.

about you
Does this sound like you?
Let's begin.
ASP couples have a discerning eye for elevated style and a deep appreciation for artistry — whether expressed through fashion, architecture, music, or the way they gather their people together.
They value trust, authenticity, and collaboration. Grounded and present, they allow themselves to be fully seen, understanding that timeless beauty comes from sincerity rather than perfection.
They prioritize meaningful experiences, shared moments, and lasting memories with the people they love most. They celebrate diversity, honor individuality, and believe that love — in all its forms — deserves to be documented with care, respect, and intention.
If this resonates, I would be honored to work together.

Visiting my parents while they lived in Germany left a lasting imprint — from winter markets and snow-capped mountains to the quiet sense of belonging that came with returning year after year.
Those moments continue to shape how I see place, memory, and home.

meal
Food is one of my favorite ways to experience culture and connection. Fresh seafood, especially raw tuna sashimi, Mediterranean tapas, and shared plates enjoyed slowly with friends and family will always top my list.
FORMAL FLAIR
Personal style is one of the most expressive parts of a wedding day. I love photographing multiple looks — whether a sparkly reception dress, a high-fashion jumpsuit, or thoughtfully chosen accessories that evolve as the evening unfolds.
These shifts add comfort, movement, and visual richness as the day transitions into night.

places i've been
Europe has my heart — for its architectural beauty, layered history, and reverence for art, culture, and daily ritual. France and Italy remain at the top of my list, places where design, food, and atmosphere feel inseparable.
Closer to home, I’m energized by New York City (a second home to D.C.) and grounded by the quiet warmth and natural rhythm of Hawaii.
Team ASP is the heart of this studio. An incredibly talented, thoughtful, and compassionate group, they bring care and intention to every celebration we document.
Weddings are a team effort — and I’m deeply grateful to work alongside people I trust completely, both creatively and personally.

FINE ART
Creating and surrounding myself with art matters deeply to me. Painting, cinema, music, and architecture all inform the way I see and compose images.
I’m drawn to the balance between classical form and bold, modern color — particularly European-inspired architecture with Renaissance or Beaux Arts elegance, and work that carries both restraint and emotion.
06
HAPPY PLACE
Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, I feel most myself near the water. The rhythm of the tide, open horizons, and changing light offer a sense of calm and clarity I return to often.
It’s no surprise that waterfront portrait sessions remain some of my favorite moments to photograph.
I love when couples bring elevated personal style to their portrait sessions — bold, intentional looks that feel like an extension of who they are.
Designers like Reem Acra, Roberto Cavalli, Carolina Herrera, Monique Lhuillier, Zuhair Murad, Christian Siriano, and Dolce & Gabbana are frequent sources of inspiration.

WEDDING MOMENT
Heartfelt vows will always be one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. But the moment just after — when it’s official and celebration begins — is pure joy.
It’s the exhale. The laughter. The shift from formality to freedom. And one of my favorite moments to document.
09
WEDDING DETAIL
Florals have a special place in my heart — especially peonies and roses. Timeless and romantic, they create softness and structure in equal measure.
I’m particularly drawn to designs that balance classic form with bold, intentional color.
