District Food Blogger marries in A Chic City-STYLE Jewish Wedding in the Heart of the capital

Every ingredient of Jordan and Brandon’s downtown DC nuptials was infused with classic and modern, yet personal, touches. From the custom “J&B” cocktail toppers, beautiful ketubah, and innovative global-inspired cuisine to their signature wedding scent permeating the ballroom and the silent disco after party, every element blended together to create an electric atmosphere and unforgettable immersive experience against the grand historic backdrop of Union Station.

J+B also opted for a stunning white floral wall embedded into the boxwood perimeter of their cocktail hour, which took place inside Union Station’s expansive Main Hall. The floral wall served as a nod to their modern white arrangements and provided an elevated yet fun photo backdrop for guests to enjoy while they mingled with the most delectable appetizers and cocktails in hand.

With the newlyweds being adventurous world travelers (hello, epic South African safari honeymoon!), and Jourdan authoring a prominent DC food blog (District Foodie), selecting rich food experiences for their guests with fare that tasted out-of-this-world and presented well was an especially important component of the day. Acclaimed DC Caterer Design Cuisine crafted concoctions that went above and beyond all expectations. For cocktail hour the 3 Star Certified Green Caterer served Mediterranean lamb chop hors d’oeuvres, an elaborate Japanese raw sushi station, and a modern take on American grilled cheese and tomato soup. Berries & Brie also provided a show stopping charcuterie spread for guests' fine grazing. For dinner, family and friends dined on Design Cuisine's elegant menu of Mediterranean burrata (with shaved ratatouille vegetables, kale & fennel Caesar salad, and pistachio hazelnut lavosh), Red Win Braised Short Rib (with truffle whipped potato, Mediterranean vegetable palette, caper jus), and Horseradish Citrus Salmon (truffle whipped potato, Mediterranean vegetable palette, caper jus). In lieu of a traditional wedding cake for dessert, the couple opted for a lavish desert table with decadent gilded chocolate cake bites, cookies and milk, strawberries and cream, baked Alaska bites on a stick, and American apple tarts.
