What is your approach to capturing our wedding story?

As the lead photographer on your wedding day(s) and your main POC throughout the process, I have a very personal, intentional, and hands-on approach to preparation and always strive for a comfortable and fun experience for you and your guests! Leading up to the wedding, I'll collaborate with you, your planner, and designer to iron out your photo timeline, plan out important detail shots, and ensure there is beautiful lighting for portraits and plenty of time to photograph every aspect of your wedding – including those pure, candid "in between" moments. Planning ahead and creating breathing room in your timeline is one of the keys that will allow you to have a smooth and enjoyable experience without all the added stress!

Prior to the wedding day, I'll loop in my photography team regarding the details of your one-of-a-kind event. And on the day of, my team and I will seamlessly work together to blend directing with unobtrusively capturing those special moments that happen naturally. This ultimately results in your unique story, showcasing the people, fine details, and emotional components of your wedding.

Should we hire a Full Service
pro planner?

YES! With over a decade of experience in this industry, I can confidently say that choosing a talented and reliable professional wedding coordinator is not only absolutely essential for you - it is also a requirement for working with me. (Please note that full service planners are different from venue coordinators and day-of wedding coordinators, and that friends/family also do not count as pro planners.) If you have already hired a pro full-service wedding planner that is fantastic, you are on the right track! If not, I am more than happy to refer you to a few incredibly talented planners that can turn your wedding dreams into a reality and ensure a smooth process for both of us leading up to & throughout your big day. (And some of them are pictured above on this page!)

Weddings are one-of-a-kind events with sophisticated details, packed timelines, beloved friends and family, and lots of raw emotion. Not hiring a pro planner, or choosing an inexperienced or unreliable one to handle your event, has resulted in me and my team taking on additional duties outside of our scope, not being able to focus on what we do best and giving you the ultimate experience you deserve. Selecting an experienced and trusted wedding coordinator can take your initial vision, enhance it beyond your imagination, and allow you, your guests (and your entire vendor team) to thoroughly enjoy the no stress wedding day of your dreams. I like to work closely with my couples' pro wedding planners and collaborate with them on the wedding day timeline to ensure my team and I are afforded those opportunities to capture all the beautiful elements of your event. Photographing your wedding is much more efficient when we work with an expert wedding planner and are able to focus solely on creating impactful imagery.

Should I make a shot list?

Any preferences you may have for your photos will be something you and I will discuss ahead of your wedding so that my team and I can best meet your wishes. No need for a shot list or Pinterest poses. Trust us with your vision fully, and see us deliver in spades! The only list we will ask you for is family combinations for us to capture the day of the wedding. Our combined 20+ years of experience and thorough, intimate approach ensures you will have plenty of photos that uniquely capture your celebration in our distinctive ASP signature style.

When will you send us our photos, and how many will we receive?

You'll receive a same day sneak peek and then a robust 50+ image preview within a few days of your wedding. 7-8 weeks later you can expect a full gallery of your professionally edited images. (Additional time may be needed for film images and other special circumstances.) We typically yield an average of 70-100 images per hour of shooting, but there is no limit to the number of images you will receive – it will all depend on your own unique story.

After delivering your full gallery, if you opt to showcase your photos in print, I will order and ship your custom heirloom album and/or fine art prints to adorn your home once we complete a final consultation & design overview.

As part of our preparation process I will work with your planner to come up with a back-up rain plan for photography in case it is needed. Team ASP is comprised of ultimate pros that have years of experience navigating the challenges bad weather can bring when photographing any kind of event – even a destination ceremony taking place during a hurricane! Planning ahead ensures flexibility just in case plans need to shift at the last moment, and this is when our expertise and resourcefulness always pays off!

What happens if you are sick or
if you have an emergency?

I am all about contingency plans. My team and I plan our lives with care to ensure availability and readiness for your event(s). Should any unforseen circumstances prevent me from photographing your once in a lifetime wedding, you would receive a replacement photographer of equal caliber and style from my trusted team of professionals to ensure you are taken care of in such an unlikely scenario.

What if it rains on our day?

DO YOU TRAVEL WITHIN THE US?

Yes, we specialize in diversified luxury and ultra-luxury weddings on the East Coast and love traveling! The majority of the weddings and pre-wedding portrait sessions we photograph take place in Washington, D.C. (our home base), Virginia, Maryland, Philadelphia, Rhode Island, Boston, and the Manhattan area. NYC is just a quick train ride away from DC and a very special place for me in particular – I consider the NYC metro area a second home base. Overall, Team ASP has photographed throughout the U.S. from Hawaii to Miami, and we would love to capture your adventure wherever you choose to say, "I do."

DO YOU TRAVEL abroad?

Yes, although we will only commit to 1-2 destination weddings outside of the US per year, depending on our schedules and commitments. Overall, global destinations & culture are a great source of inspiration for us as artists. My team and I have had the pleasure of traveling to numerous scenic places in Europe including France, Italy, Germany, and the UK and relish in photographing love stories across the globe in locations that have special meaning for your extraordinary event. If you are interested in this option, please note that all travel outside of the United States must be booked 7 or more months in advance.

How much of an investment should we be prepared to make?

How do we reserve our date(s) on your calendar?

All photo collections are customized to perfectly suit all of your needs and desires. After a consult I will make recommendations so that we can craft an ideal experience for your once-in-a-lifetime celebration. ASP collections begin at $12,000 for 8 hours of consecutive coverage, and most wedding clients spend about $15,000 when including extra hours of coverage or fine art heirloom products.

For the complete ASP wedding photography experience, multi-day & unlimited coverage (single day) options are also available upon signing. Products and extra hours of coverage can either be added to your contract upon signing and reserving your date(s) with me, or added on later after the contract is signed so that you have maximum flexibility.

Inquire via the ASP contact form, and let's first see if your date is available. To formally reserve your wedding date(s) I will send you a contract to sign and an invoice for a deposit (1/3 of the total contract value). Once both of these are received your date(s) will be reserved for you, and only you. We wouldn't dream of having anything else to do on a big day like yours!
