Amina and Arsalan’s story began amidst the backdrop of Maryland's largest city when they crossed paths on the modern-day matchmaker, Bumble. Their digital connection was swift, sparked by having the “three Ms” in common: medicine, music, and Michigan/Maryland sports. As Arsalan soon learned, Amina’s interest in sports was embellished a bit but there was the promise of something extraordinary in the making so he didn’t mind too much.
Arsalan’s world was shaken when his father fell seriously ill, and the weight of caring for him fell upon his shoulders. It was during this trying time that Amina, with her unwavering compassion and strength, became his beacon of hope and his source of strength when he needed it most. Amina's presence became the guiding light that pulled Arsalan through the darkest of days. Her care, empathy, and the unspoken understanding between them created a bond that could not be broken. With the blessings from his late father and Amina’s parents, Arsalan planned an unforgettable proposal in the very same spot where they first met.
The sophisticated couple chose two well-known locations in downtown Baltimore for their multi-day fusion celebration. Tabrizi’s set the scene for Amina and Arsalan’s intimate Muslim Nikkah ceremony where the couple exchanged rings and dined on fine Mediterranean cuisine along the waterfront with their closest friends and family. When the couple first saw The Belvedere in the city’s historic and charming Mount Vernon neighborhood they knew the glamorous and iconic Baltimore landmark would be the ideal wedding venue to host their opulent Western ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Inspired by Bridgerton’s Regencycore aesthetic, masterful wedding planner Katie Fisher of Social Graces Events brought the couple's vision to life with a Western wedding ceremony that was classic and boldly romantic with a lush indoor floral garden and hints of gilded, Old-World style blended with modern touches.
It was also important to Amina and Arsalan that their union paid homage to each of their respective cultures. Their lively reception inside The Belvedere’s 12th floor Grand Ballroom kicked-off with a grand Egyptian wedding entrance with drums and music, called a zaffe. Modern Egyptian, Pakistani, and American fusion music played throughout the evening as guests celebrated the couple. The newlyweds also served Egyptian pastries and hosted a Pakistani chai cart, along with a Quaran recitation during their Western ceremony earlier that same day.

Anna made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and captured our wedding day beautifully. We worked with Anna and her team for our engagement photos, Pakistani/Egyptian wedding ceremony, and our Western ceremony and reception. Anna brought the energy each time and was such a joy to work with. Her ability to capture those special moments have us wanting to get married all over again for the chance to work with her and her team some more. Working with Anna was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.
Amina
